Today I have been researching the various levels of LEED certifications and what each level entails. The building that I work in just recently became LEED certified so since I work in the department that helped our building get the certification I figured I need to know actually what it means. So I have spent the entire day learning about Areas of Credit which you can receive points towards becoming a LEED certified building. These areas are:
Sustainable Sites
Water Efficiency
Energy & Atmosphere
Materials and Resources
Indoor Environmental Quality
Very interesting information, in the future I hope they incorporate more of the ideas into residential building as well.

This is very interesting. We really need to do more to make our residential communities more sustainable
ReplyDeleteI have just recently been learning about the LEED certs this semester through Habitat, who build LEED Platinum houses, it is very interesting and more developers should be shooting towards achieving these certs.
